Dental care can be costly all over the world, and keeping up complicated. Some dentists have decided to give back to their communities through providing residents a free service. One such group can be the Fiji Dental Medical Foundation. This organization takes trips to different areas to provide charitable dental services to the people who reside in that region. They have provided these services to residents of Fiji for the last six years. They visit Fiji’s remote areas and do dental work on islands.

One of the dentists in the group is a recreational surfer who’s been spending the majority of his time at the islands. After he made friends with the owners of the island as well as other staff members, he noticed the number of people with missing teeth each time he went to visit. He decided to look into the situation further. Residents were suffering from bad dental health, and the state of their teeth was getting worse.
